Geraldo Alckmin will visit the construction of the Bioceanic Bridge in March confirms governor

During an interview on the Capital Midday radio program, in Campo Grande, on Thursday (19), governor Eduardo Riedel (PSDB) confirmed that the vice-president of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), will be in Mato Grosso do Sul in March.

“I talked to him by phone the day before yesterday (17) and he said he is scheduled to visit the Bi-oceanic Route bridge in March, to see and discuss the project. Including, one of our priorities on the agenda for January 27th, which will be presented to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), is the access way to the bridge,” said Riedel.

The expectation is to have all the investment definitive and operational in 2025. “This bridge will transform the relations between four South American countries. It is 500 km of asphalt paving, we are creating an international relationship and we will discuss the impacts that it will have for Mato Grosso do Sul,” he assured.

The bridge is already 13% finished. It will link Porto Murtinho to Carmelo Peralta, in Paraguay. This will be the third international bridge between the two countries. It will be fundamental to give access to the Pacific Ocean and facilitate the negotiations with the Asian market.

Riedel emphasized again that he will also take the UFN3 to the president as a priority. “This conclusion will transform the reality and competitiveness of the entire Brazilian Midwest. We already have an agenda with the president of Petrobras to deal with the subject and the Minister of Planning and Budget, Simone Tebet, has helped us a lot with this”, he pointed out.

Moreover, in the infrastructure part, Riedel will ask for the concession of three axes of federal highways: 262, 267 and 163. “They need a third lane, duplication in some places. And we also need the railroad concession. We expect the Western Network, to unlock one of the most important modals in Brazil.

As for the prospect of a legacy, the governor was emphatic in affirming that he wants to conclude his administration in the next four years, guaranteeing dignity for all the people of the state of Mato Grosso. “I want everyone to have jobs and income. If I conclude with no family needing help from Mais Social, it will be a great legacy”, he concluded.
